Exhibition in progress
To understand Bratislava means to see it not only as the place where we live, but as a living organism that grows, changes and adapts to the needs of its inhabitants.

This exhibition takes you through a city you may think you know – but not like this. It tells the story of Bratislava through maps, graphs and numbers that reveal the city’s layers, its everyday life and future challenges. It helps us understand the city in contexts that are not immediately visible.
Where and how do we live in Bratislava? How is population density changing and how do the city’s districts evolve? How does the city compare in good public transport, walking and cycling infrastructure in the context of European metropolises? Where does the city breathe, and where does it overheat? How does climate change affect our daily comfort and health? And how do we create the conditions for a good quality of life where schools, parks, hospitals, cultural institutions and sports facilities are within easy reach?
The exhibition presents Bratislava as an interconnected system – a network of relationships between people, infrastructure and landscape. When we understand these connections, we begin to see the city differently: not just as a backdrop to everyday life, but as a shared space we can shape, care for and love.
