For lovers of running and long walks, here’s a new challenge—this time, it’s not about time or results, but about experiencing the city. Sign up for Bratislava’s first ARCHI-RUN 2026.
Slovakia’s running community is constantly growing—not only with new runners but also with new rrunning events. Now, the ARCHI-RUN is calling for your time and energy—a truly unique architectural urban run in Slovakia’s capital, organized by Piatkovica Social Club, the Metropolitan Institute of Bratislava and TU-BA.
The run focuses on lesser-known aspects of Bratislava’s architecture and provides access to places not normally open to the public, such as the rooftops of new developments or the interiors of cultural venues. The route is approximately 8 km long. Starting intervals begin in the morning.
Who is the run designed for? “All runners, walkers, children, and seniors are welcome—simply anyone interested in architecture, the city, and Bratislava. There will be no timing or results at the event,” explains Mário Šmýkal, the organizer of well-known party run Piatkovica.
Together with Piatkovica running club, the organisation of ARCHI-RUN has been taken on by the Metropolitan Institute of Bratislava and TU-BA – the Centre for Architecture and Urban Planning.
The inspiration comes from Prague—Archirun has been held in the Czech capital since 2023—and is organized by institutions similar to MIB and TU-BA: the Prague Institute of Planning and Development (IPR) and the Center for Architecture and Urban Planning (CAMP).
“As the Metropolitan Institute of Bratislava, we focus on public spaces, which we revitalize in order to improve people’s relationship with their city. Running through the city is a great way to stay active and discover the city in a different way. ARCHI-RUN adds to this the discovery of architecturally interesting buildings and interiors that are normally inaccessible,” explains Jakub Hrubý of Metropolitan Institute of Bratislava, a running enthusiast and urban explorer.
The first ARCHI-RUN in Bratislava will take place on July 25, 2026, starting and ending at Komenský Square. Along the experiential route, participants will walk or run through five stops, including the TU-BA Architecture Center. Additional stops will be revealed gradually.
You can find all the latest information about the run and registration on the GO OUT website and on the social media pages of MIB, TU-BA, and Piatkovica. Get your early bird ticket today!
